Chronicle

Now I know I said that I would rarely do movies, but I actually saw a movie this weekend. It was a long weekend, and I had some free time, so I went to see the movie Chronicle.
The movie was good, better than I thought it was going to be. The movie is about these three boys, Andrew, Steve, and Matt. These three boys discover a "supernatural" power when they are exploring in a local cave. This power is telekinesis, and it allows them to move things with out actually touching them, using just their minds.

This was actually way better than I thought it was going to be. In the commercials, they had tried to make it look more horror then it really was, but it's not horror at all. This was good because I HATE horror movies. I cry. Anyway Chronicle was good and I would completely recomend it.
The Lying Game
by Sara Shepard

4 out of 5

This book, which has been made into a popular abc family show, is actually quite different from the tv show. The book is about a young girl, Emma, who due to a distrubing video on the internet, discovers that she has an identical twin sister. When Emma gets in contact with her sister, Sutton, on Facebook, her sister seems eager to meet her. But when Emma shows up in her Sutton's town, her sister is nowhere to be found! Emma discovers that Sutton has been killed, and that she is here to take her spot.

I thought that this book was actually pretty good. I was a little confused in the beginning because I thought it was going to be like the tv show, but it's way better. I'm definately going to be reading the other books in this series.

Water for Elephants
By Sara Gruen

3 out of 5

This is about a college student, Jacob, who due to a series of unfortuate events, does not take his final exams and instead jumps a train one night. The train he jumps just happens to be a circus train. Jacob get a job with the circus because he is a vet. He was studying to be a vet, but he never took his exams. However, in 1931, no one really cares about degrees. So, of course, Jacob upsets everyone, and in the process falls in love with a married woman, who is the star act of the circus.

I thought that this was really good. I have wanted to read this for a while and I just now got around to it. Anyone who hasn't read it, I would highly recommend it. It's not overly romantic, but it's not overly manly either. Best of both worlds, in my opinion. :)
First Book!!
I finished two books last night, but I will put each one on it's own post.
The Last Thing I Remember
by Andrew Klavan

3 out of 5

This book is about a boy, Charlie, who wakes up, and he is tied to a chair. Then these guys come in and are planning to kill him. The only catch is, Charlie has no idea how he got into this sticky situation. None at all. He tries to explain that to the murderers, but they just don't understand. Luckily Charlie escapes, but that doesn't mean he is out of trouble yet. He still has to figure out what happened, and why he can't remember anything.

This book was pretty good. First in the Homelands Series, I will definiately check out the second book, that is if my sister hasn't lost it. It was interesting, and I was entertained. Not too much dialogue though. Charlie spends most of his time alone. so if you're someone like me, who loves dialogue, this may not be the thing for you. Most of the book is Charlie's inner thoughts and reflections because he is on the run and by himself for most of the time.
